Waiting on Wednesday (16)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week I'm waiting on

Dualed by Elsie Chapman

Dualed (Dualed, #1)Title: Dualed
Author: Elsie Chapman
Will be published on: February 26th, 2013 (Random House)
Pages: 304
Series: Dualed #1
Synopsis from Goodreads: The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. Everyone has a genetic Alternate—a twin raised by another family—and citizens must prove their worth by eliminating their Alts before their twentieth birthday. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage—life.

Fifteen-year-old West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. But then a tragic misstep shakes West’s confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she’s no longer certain that she’s the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.

Another synopsis that sounds so intriguing! The idea of having an alternate sounds very interesting! I'm looking forward to reading Dualed!

What are you waiting on?

  1. Super excited for this! Having to train to kill your twin?! A very interesting plot line. Wondering why they think their genetic alts should be destroyed? How do they know which one is truly bad?

  4. Great pick! I got an ARC of this a while ago but since it's released in 2013 I won't be reading it just yet. I haven't really heard much buzz for it, whether it be on blogs or Goodreads, so I'm not sure what to expect, but it sure sounds good! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
