Top Ten Most Frustrating Characters Ever

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday has another topic and different bloggers give their top ten. I love making lists, so here's mine for this week!

This week topic is

Top Ten Most Frustrating Characters Ever

1. Zoey Redbird (House of Night series by P.C. & Kirsten Cast)
Twilight (Twilight, #1)When I first started the HoN series I liked it. Up until the fifth book. I don't know what changed there (me or the book/characters), but it started to annoy me, and not only Zoey. I gave up on the series when that kid died (was his name Eric?) singing a Glee song. Zoey Redbird is one of the most annoying characters I've ever read about, with the not wanting to leave her human boyfriend or anyone else for that matter. Somewhere it stopped being seeing the good in people in just being blind for someone else's flaws.

2. Bella (Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer)
You'll find quite a few characters on my list from books I enjoyed. I read Twilight long before I started blogging and I'd never read reviews about it. I understand why people don't like the series, but I did (wouldn't be so sure if I liked them now though). I did had a struggle getting through book two. I know a break-up can be bad, but just get out into the world and don't whine all the time about it. It will get annoying.

3. Molly (Undeadly by Michele Vail)
I'm not even going to elaborate on this one. How ignorant can you be?

4. Ever (Evermore series by Alyson Noel)
Glow (Sky Chasers, #1)I had the same frustrations with her that I had with Bella. I liked reading the series, but Ever could just not make up her mind and that irritated me.

5. Kieran (Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan)
I thought this book was amazing and I want to kick myself for not having read the second book yet! But Kieran... If you've read the book you probably know what I mean. He's very claiming for one and than the stuff he says at the end. Freaky!

6. Madison (L.A. Candy / The Fame Game series by Lauren Conrad)
YA is my favorite book genre in the world, but once in a while I like to mix things up. And that's were I read Chick Lit (or another genre). I liked the L.A. Candy series, but Madison was so irritating. I think this was Lauren Conrad's intention, so it worked. I've read The Fame Game and have Starstruck on my TBR pile. For a quick read these books are amazing.

7. Peris (Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld)
I've only read the first two books in the series, and the third on my TBR pile. I love this series, but Peris just annoyed me. Tally idolized him, but he's just lame. He didn't even dare to escape.

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)8.  Juliette (Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi)
First of all, I love this series! (I want to make that clear;)). While I'm making this list I notice I mostly get annoyed by characters who can't make up their mind. And now that I think of it this is also what irritates me in real life. How hard can it be?! (But you know what they say, what annoys you in others is mostly something you're not allowed to do yourself, but you do all the time). It's the same with Juliette, especially in Unravel Me. I just wanted to shake her and scream at her. But I'm still in love with the series and can't wait to read Book 3!

Only eight for me this week! There are probably many more characters out there who annoyed me at some point, but this is what I could come up with for today!

What characters annoyed you?

  1. Oh ugh, Zoey....I started reading those before I was blogging. I'm not sure how many books I read before I decided to give up...too many. :)

  2. I'm the same about Twilight. Read it before I blogged and long before I edited my own work. Never had much of a problem with it. I wonder if I read them now if I'd pick up on more the writing things people hate. As for Bella, she may not be a strong character, but she never bothered me the way she seems to other people. I didn't name her, but I figure she'll be on a lot of the lists today. :D Great picks!

  3. HoN made my list, too, but I just lumped alllllllll the characters in there. They're all stupidly annoying (and yet I still enjoy the books, I'm really not sure how that works lol)!

  6. I am really glad I didn't start the House of Night series, because it seems like there is nobody who likes the series anymore.

  7. OMG! HAHAHA That is the last HoN book I read too! That was a ridiculous scene. I was like "W. T. F.?" But yes, Zoey and a lot of the other characters in that series are seriously frustrating.

  9. I agree with you on Bella. I would have to add Stephanie Plum (Janet Evanovich). Funny book but the character just make you just want to slap her (more that a few times per book).
