Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday has another topic and different bloggers give their top ten. I love making lists, so here's mine for this week!

This week's topic is

Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List

Difficult topic this week! Auto-buying hasn't always worked that well for me. The first time I did buy a book just because I liked the author's other books was not a good experience. I loved Lauren Kate's Fallen series and when The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove came out I bought it immediately. I wish I never had, it wasn't at all what I hoped it would be. Ever since I'm very hesitant about buying books from authors I've only read one book or series by.
Although I must add that I have the same experience the other way around. When Stephenie Meyer's The Host was published I was skeptical and didn't intend to read it. A friend of mine nearly forced me to read and I really enjoyed that one.

So here's my list of authors that are on my auto-buy list now and I actually intend to read whatever they publish next!

10. Michael Grant
Echo (Soul Seekers, #2)Michael Grant's Gone series keeps intriguing me. I also read BZRK and although it wasn't as good as Gone I still liked it. I've Eve and Adam on my TBR pile. Not everyone is positive about this one, but so far I've wanted to read every book Michael Grant wrote.

9. Alyson Noel
Another author I've read multiple books/series by. I love her writing style and that's important for me, so it's most likely that I'll pick up her next books as well.

8. Rachel Hawkins
I've only read Hex Hall, but I loved it so much that I can't wait to read her other books!

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments #5)7. Cassandra Clare
Also an author with an amazing writing style. I'm not up-to-date with her series (so much to read!), but I loved the books I've read so far!

6. Mary Hoffman
I must admit that I always read the synopsis and than make my decision to buy the book or not. Also with authors I always love! I've read multiple books by Mary Hoffman and they're so good. She's one of the authors I would feel comfortable enough with to buy her new book without reading synopsis.

5. Julie Kagawa
I loved her Iron Fey series, The Lost Prince and Immortal Rules, so I think it's pretty safe to say that I would pick up any book she wrote!

Spirit (Elemental, #3)
4. Richelle Mead
I've only read her Vampire Academy series and I have Bloodlines on my TBR pile. She deserves a spot on this list after I saw her new book, Gameboard of the Gods. It sounds amazing!
3. Brigid Kemmerer
Her Elemental series is one of my favorite series at the moment. I'm very curious what more she'll write! But first she must finish the Elemental series, I can't get enough of it!

2Tahereh Mafi
Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)One of the most amazing things about her Shatter Me series is the writing style! I can't wait to read more books by her!

1. Katie McGarry
Pushing the Limits was my favorite book last year and Dare You To was even better! I will definitely pick up anything she writes!

What authors are on your auto-buy list?

  5. I decided to leave Clare off my list, she's overdoing it with the Shadownhunters. She's gonna milk it for all its worth but it's gonna get old pretty soon. I already didn't like TID all that much anyway.
Great list. Thanks for stopping by :)

  6. We share a couple of the same authors. I'm waiting to read Dare You To before announcing Katie McGarry as an auto-buy author, but I'm 99% sure I'm going to love that book anyway. Great llist!
