This week's topic is
So this week we're thinking about our favorite characters in X genre. I thought about it for awhile and in the end I decided to go for Dystopian! Here's my Top Ten with my fav characters!
1. Kenji (Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi)
Kenji is definitely my number one! Not many characters in the dystopian genre make my laugh out loud, but Kenji did just that! He's so funny.
2. Lana (Gone by Michael Grant)
If you've read the Gone series you know Lana is the girl with the healing touch. She's a bit disturbed in the later books after the Gaiaphage used her, but I'm so intrigued by her!
3. Rue (The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins)
She's the most sweet character I've encountered in this genre. Her end was so beautiful I cried.
4. Zoe (Glitch by Heather Anastasiu)
I see a lot of myself in Zoe. People have to earn her trust and she wants to figure things out for herself. I love her for that!
5. Waverly (Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan)
Waverly is a tough girl who acts when that's necessary, even when she doesn't like it or has to go another way than she originally planned. I love a kick-ass heroin!
6. Perry (Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi)
For some reason I always tend to like the girl more than the guy in Dystopians (with the exception of Kenji!), but Perry is just such an amazing guy! Yes, I love him!
7. Lena (Delirium by Lauren Oliver)
Like I said before I like tough girls! And I admire Lena for standing up for what she believes in! But that ending of Delirium! I still haven't found the courage to read the rest of the series.
8. Tally (Uglies by Scott Westerfeld)
What I found most refreshing about this series is that the MC actually wants to be part of the dystopian world! And at first I couldn't understand that at all, but Tally really grew on me!
9. Trella (Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder)
Another kick-ass heroin! She looked so tough, but deep down inside she's a really sweet girl (well, I like to think that anyway). I would love to be more like her.
10. Kyra (Partials by Dan Wells)
Last, but not least! I admire Kyra for wanting to find the cure no matter what.
So, what genre did you pick and more importantly which characters?

I liked Rue! :D I'm surprised you picked Lena because of her toughness, because I was annoyed by her whiny attitude :p

Great list, I almost did the Dystopian genre, but when I looked to see how many books I've read in that genre I was surprise to learn that I haven' really read many books in that genre. I own a lot, but I just haven't read them.

ReplyDeleteSo many books here I intend to read and just haven't gotten around to yet. Under the Never Sky is here on my desk beside me. I hope I like Perry as much as you did.
