Synopsis from Goodreads: Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is--now it's getting harder. She's having nightmares of a desperate desert journey, visions of three women weeping tears of blood. And why is she possessed by the sudden, unstoppable urge to kill the handsome new boy in school, Lucas Delos?

A love written in the stars . . .

A feud started in ancient Greece . . .

A curse not even the gods can break.

I love Greek mythology! I've always been intrigued by the stories of the Greek Gods. So of course I had to read Starcrossed! And it is amazing!

Helen has always known she was special, but just not how special. When she runs into Lucas, the new kid in town, and wants to kill him immediately she knows she's not the only one who's special. Lucas came to the island with his family not knowing there was a descendant from a different house, because they were under the impression they were all dead. After getting each other practically killed the Furies disappear and Helen learns more about herself and her powers. Maybe even more than she ever wanted to know.

The idea behind the story is just amazing. Not only the Greek mythology, but mostly how Josephine Angelini made it her own! There are four houses and so four Gods from whom some people are descendants. After the Trojan war the Gods forbade the different houses to work together ever again and so they are destined to kill each other when they meet. Unless you save each other's lives. I loved that they all have different kind of powers. Some occur in everyone, but others are really special. And of course Helen has some kick ass powers!

I loved Josephine Angelini's writing style! Even in the less exciting moments it never gets slow. And that's always a good thing. You're really sucked into the story. It was really hard to put down and I can't wait to read Dreamless.
I would definitely recommend Starcrossed!
