Ten Books I'd Recommend As Good Beach Reads
I mostly read YA,
but I think there are more Chick Lit titles that are a Good Beach Read. So you
will mostly find those here, but I will add some YA as well. There will also be
a mix between the books I will read this summer and that I have already read.
1. I Heart London by
Lindsey Kelk
This book was
published last week and this will be my ultimate summer read. For those of you
who don't know it: this is the fourth part in the I Heart series about Angela
Clark. She is just so hilarious! Your beach trip isn't complete without this
book!
2. City of Swords by
Mary Hoffman
I already
discussed this book on my blog, and again: I can't wait to
read this. The sixth book in the Stravaganza-series. It gets published on July
5th, so that's mostly the reason I put it on this list. For me this will
probably be number one this summer. But technically it isn't a real Beach Read.
3. The Fame Game by
Lauren Conrad
Yay, a new series
by Lauren Conrad. I really liked L.A. Candy and the beginning of her new series
is even better. With Madison as the star!
4. The Sisterhood of
the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
I know, this is a
bit old, but trust me, if you haven't read it this is your summer! Every girl
should have read this series.
5. Don't You Forget
About Me by Alexandra Potter
I was a bit
disappointed by her last title I read (What's New, Pussycat?), but the synopsis
of this books looks so good again, that I will give her another chance. Most of
her books are really great and maybe the beach will make them even
better.
6. The Perks of Being
a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
The trailer for
the movie was released last week and for all those people out there who haven't
read the book, just like me, it's time we finally do that this summer!
7. Rapture by Lauren
Kate
The last book in
the Fallen series. I'm curious how it will end. And since it will be published
today (US) or otherwise in the next two weeks (UK) it's at least a nice summer
read.
8. City of Lost Souls
by Cassandra Clare
The Mortal
Instruments is one of my favorite series. I love Clares writing style and the
turn City of Fallen Angels has taken. One of those titles I can't wait to read
this summer.
9. I've Got Your
Number by Sophie Kinsella
As one of the
greatest Chick Lit authors you can't miss this one and it think it will be a
great read on the beach.
10. Last Song by
Nicholas Sparks
Although the story
takes a sad turn I love his books. And the story is about a girl who spends the
summer at her fathers, who lives at the beach. So,
a more literary beach book.
Perks is an incredible book. I'm so excited about the movie. Great list!

DeleteThanks for stopping by! I saw the trailer for Perks last week and loved it! I have to read it this summer!
Your Top Ten had new titles for me, going to check them out later!
With Sisterhood showing up on so many lists today I just may have to break down and read the book. :) Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Vikk,
DeleteYou have to read The Sisterhood, they're great books, I'm sure you'll love them :)
I liked your Top Ten, although I'm not really a writer ;)
I agree with Lori--Perks is absolutely breathtaking. Also, I'm thinking of reading Lindsey Kelk's series, but I might wait until I see it somewhere for cheap, because I don't usually spend much money on adult fiction.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Top Ten?
Hi Lauren,

DeleteI think Last Song is one of the few Nicholas Sparks books I haven't read. I can just see my sitting on my beach towel an emotional wreck holding one of his books ;) LOL
ReplyDeleteI thought The Last Song was one of Spraks' best books! I cried so heart at the end...
DeleteYes! Another Sophie Kinsella mention - she's just perfect for the beach. I have read the first three Mortal Instruments books - liked them and will definitely be reading the next two in the series soon.
